Restaurant Cook

Summary: Accurately and efficiently cook food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Maintain a clean and safe working station. Communicate with co-workers at shift change as well as restock station as needed.

Essential Duties:
Prepare all menu items using standard portion sizes and cooking methods and assume total responsibility for quality of items served. Prepare all food items in a timely manner, cook to order. Comply with food service policies and procedures. Check and maintain proper temperature of equipment and food products. Assist in food prep assignments. Rotate all food products to insure utmost freshness. Properly use all kitchen equipment, report any damage or failure of equipment to immediate supervisor. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including shelves, fryers, grills, refrigeration, etc. Pay close attention to the amount of waste, filling out the waste sheet as items are thrown away, being sure to check with supervisor before disposing of any items. Be willing to help co-workers as situations arise. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience:  At least 6 months experience as a cook with working knowledge of a flat top grill, char grill, fryer and stove tops.

Special Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors, and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Basic math skills are required. Must be dependable and punctual.

Licenses: Obtain/maintain Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma gaming license

Job Demands
Physical: Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Environmental:  Work in casino operations containing second hand smoke, high noise level and bright lights.
